Volunteer

The GSB Fund is an annual fundraising initiative that raises unrestricted monies in support of the school's budget. Tuition dollars do not cover the cost of educating a Gill student and the School relies on financial support from its current and past parents, grandparents, and alumni to bridge the gap. The GSB Fund Committee works with the Office of Advancement to promote the GSB Fund and encourage members of our community to show their financial support of the School.

Arts volunteers provide support primarily for the Upper School drama department productions, band concerts, and chorale performances, as well as student art shows. Volunteers are needed to help organize the choral music library in the Chapel, assist with set construction, paint and decorate the set, and sew costumes for the theatrical productions. Baking for performances and art show is also needed.

The Athletic Booster Club is a fund- and spirit-raising organization that benefits our student-athletes. Your support is welcomed in the various volunteer opportunities such as becoming a team parent in the Upper and Middle Schools, helping with concessions at Cox Lodge and in the Athletic Center, decorating for Homecoming/Family Day and "Spirit" days throughout the year, and helping during Lower School events.

Breakfast volunteers organize the Parents’ Association Welcome Breakfast and the Year End Celebration Breakfast.

The Care Network is a group of parents that sends personal notes of congratulations, encouragement, or consolation, and offers meals or support to GSB families who may need assistance for a period of time.

General volunteers help the Parents' Association committees during the year with mailings, setup, and tasks ranging from mailings to baking for various school functions and events. There are many opportunities for volunteers, and flexible schedules are available.

Homecoming / Family Day offers a day filled with rides, games, and activities geared to students of all ages and their families. A picnic lunch is available to all who attend. The GSB Knights have a full slate of athletic competitions throughout the day. The day of, volunteers help at the Pumpkin Patch and at other activities of the day for 30 to 60 minute time slots from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
