Floral filled teapots and bright spring colors created a warm welcome for GSB family and friends as they joyfully gathered in the Mansion’s historic halls and enjoyed picturesque views of Natirar Park and the bucolic hills beyond while they shopped, dined, and connected with friends during this annual community building and fundraising event.
Over a dozen vendors set up pop-up boutiques, offering a unique range of shopping treats from handbags, pajamas, jewelry, spring fashions, and home goods. Between shopping, guests added tickets to the 30+ baskets and tried their luck at unlocking the Magical Key lock to win a trending now prize.
After a morning of socialization and shopping, guests were invited into the ballroom for a live fashion event and sit-down luncheon. PA President Sacha Marcucci stepped to the podium and welcomed fellow parents and friends before calling up Head of School Sid Rowell to help draw the door prize, a $250 gift certificate to Natirar.
“I am so impressed with the attention to detail the committee has put into every aspect of our afternoon,” Sacha said. “I am incredibly grateful to see so many of our GSB family and friends here supporting our efforts. The GSB Fashion Event is always a highlight of our year, and this year is no exception!”
Mr. Rowell spoke of the history of the PA Fashion Event in his remarks, recalling memories two decades long. He then personally thanked 2023 Fashion Event Co-Chairs, Kate Hanson and Lauren Salko.
“The Fashion Event is a celebration of our GSB community,” the Co-Chairs stated. “The event’s vision came to life through the incredible efforts of the PA volunteers. It is such a joy to see our community shining again.”
Kate and Lauren thanked Sacha for her leadership and asked their entire committee to stand in order to thank them and the full GSB Community for their support. They continued the festivities by pulling additional door prizes and the winning ticket for the highly anticipated luxury raffle handbag.
At the lunch’s conclusion, enthused and courageous parent models from the fourth, eighth, and twelfth grade classes graced the runway wearing the latest spring fashions from Windswept Boutique in Mendham, NJ, who graciously collaborated with GSB this year as a vendor and runway fashion partner. Runway music was provided by former GSB parent Henry Davis.
The Fashion Event’s success would not have been possible without the behind-the-scenes work of the Event Co-Chairs, Core Committee, community donors, local boutique vendors, our inspiring parent models, the Development and Communications Department, and all the guests that filled the room.
