This past Friday, over 125 families from the GSB community came together virtually to enjoy homemade pizza and some local brew beer and hard cider, while tuning in to live streaming entertainment from the GSB Performing Arts & Community Center.
This event came together through creativity and partnership with our parents and the generous support from local businesses, including Burnt Mills Cider and GSB-family-owned Conclave Brewing.
During the evening, families sent in and posted photos ranging from pie toss challenges, flour covered faces, perfectly cooked masterpieces, and fire pit gatherings via #GSBPizzaParty.
Head of School Sid Rowell thanked all the entertainers who would be performing live and then introduced GSB alumni Stephanie Amoroso '11 back on campus to kick off the music portion of the evening. Stephanie played the piano while singing beautiful, original lyrics, and reflecting fondly on her time as a student of Gill. Musicians Cort Corbin and local band Hub Hollow wrapped up the night playing both old and new tunes on stage. Jill Turpin, lead singer, congratulated the GSB community on staying connected while staying safe during the Covid-19 challenges.
A gallery of photos, including the package pick-up moments at Home Winds Farm, #GSBPizzaParty images shared online, and the performers in the PACC, is available on our Facebook page. Thanks to everyone for making this a special evening.
