Middle School Clubs at GSB: Student-Led, Community-Building, and Fun

By Associate Director of Marketing and Communications Kathleen Bartlett

At Gill St. Bernard’s School, Middle School clubs are all about student voice, choice, and creativity. Each trimester, students propose fresh ideas for new clubs, and once the lineup is finalized, everyone has the opportunity to select which ones they’d like to join. With meetings held twice a week in 30-minute sessions, students can experience up to three different clubs throughout the year.

What sets GSB clubs apart? They are designed around students’ interests and passions—providing a space to explore new hobbies, build friendships, and unwind in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Take it from Sophia, a member of the Jewelry Making Club: “I love making jewelry, and we can chat about sports and other stuff while we do it. It’s relaxing, and we love socializing!”

From hands-on creativity to active play, there’s something for everyone. Club options are ever evolving and, in the past, have included:

  • Board Games
  • Knitting & Jewelry Making
  • Art, Photography & Drawing
  • Movie Appreciation
  • Nature Walks
  • Sports Club
  • Wellness Club
  • Yo-Yo Club

Whether students are designing handmade accessories, enjoying a nature walk, or competing in a strategy game, Middle School clubs at GSB foster a strong sense of community and joyful exploration.
