Olympic spirit centers around creating a community of friendship, solidarity, and fair play. Today, Lower School families gathered outside Cox to bring that spirit to life in GSB’s inaugural Winter Festival.
The Olympic-themed Festival, which was hosted after school by Lower School Room Parents, gave students an opportunity to celebrate the end of winter and the coming of spring as they rotated through a series of four Olympic activities with their friends: Ice Luge Races, Broom Hockey, Cornhole, and “Build A Box Snowman”. At the start of the festival, each Lower Schooler received their very own passport which they used to keep track of their progress. Students received a stamp for completing each activity, and at the end, traded in their passport for a gold medal and the opportunity to hold an Olympic torch. Families enjoyed complimentary hot chocolate and snacks as they cheered on their athletes.
A special thanks to our Lower School Room Parents for organizing a fun-filled Friday activity!
