K-12 Students Showcase Their Creativity in Fall Arts Fest

Last week, GSB Fine Arts students re-opened the Parents’ Association Student Art Gallery with a brilliant, interactive display of creativity in Studio Art, Woodworking, Ceramics, Photography and Graphic Design.

As part of the Fall Arts Fest, Kindergarten to 12th grade students premiered their artwork in a variety of styles and mediums. GSB families, faculty, staff, and other community members used the event as an opportunity to explore works from all three divisions, including wildflower still-lives from Kindergarteners, paper relief flowers designed by 5th graders, pressed flowers in wall tiles and vases created by ceramics students, macro flower work by upper school photographers, and a display of inventor stools by woodworking students. Select works from Honors Portfolio and AP Art and Design students were also on view.

In addition to viewing this year’s artwork, attendees also had the chance to demonstrate their own creativity in a number of interactive displays, such as an Inktober drawing station and a making their own ceramic bowls to support the Empty Bowl Initiative.

GSB would like to thank the Fine Arts department for hosting an incredible opening event. Congratulations to our student artists on a wonderful exhibition!
