GSB Players Return to the Stage!

On March 6 and 7, the award-winning GSB Players will present four live and in-person performances of the charming and inspirational Broadway musical, Two by Two, a reimagined story of Noah's preparations for the Great Flood and its aftermath. Performance times are 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts & Community Center.

"We are so excited to be able to bring live musical theatre to our PACC stage once again," said Paul H. Canada, Performing Arts chair. "Our cast and crew of Two by Two have embraced the challenges and opportunities of creating theatre during the COVID-19 pandemic and look forward to sharing our unique and timely production with the GSB community."

Onstage, the actors will follow pandemic precautions that will enable them to belt out tunes for the in-house audiences to enjoy. A two-tiered plexiglass and wood structure, built by Todd Ross, assistant director of Performing Arts, and Joe DeVico, coordinator of instructional and visual technology, will make this possible.

"The actors have their own box to stand in, with eight in front and six in the back," said Mr. Ross. "This way, they can sing without wearing masks." He added that in the past, parents helped build sets, but due to COVID-19 restrictions, that was not possible this year.

Other precautions will be evident for the audience, as the box office has released limited blocks of seats with social distancing guidelines in mind. No tickets will be sold at the door. In addition, extra time between shows will allow for cleaning and sanitizing. Upon arrival, guests must fill out a health assessment form and have their temperatures taken. For everyone's safety, visitors must wear masks in the theater.

Thank you for your cooperation. Enjoy the GSB Players' production of Two by Two, based on Clifford Odets' play, The Flowering Peach, with lyrics by Martin Charnin and music by Richard Rodgers.
