GSB Parents’ Association Celebrates a Year of Volunteerism at Year-End Breakfast

On the morning of Wednesday, May 14, 2025, the Gill St. Bernard’s School community gathered in the Chapel for the Parents’ Association Year-End Breakfast, a warm and heartfelt celebration recognizing the incredible dedication of parent volunteers throughout the 2024–25 school year.

The event offered the school an opportunity to express gratitude for the time, energy, and enthusiasm that GSB parents bring to campus life. The morning began with welcoming remarks from Director of Parents’ Relations and Special Events Jen Doherty, who thanked attendees for their continued support and tireless work behind the scenes of countless school events and initiatives from committee meetings to set up.

Director of Admission and Financial Aid Ann Marie Blackman P ’13, ’16 extended special appreciation to the Parent Admission Network (PAN) volunteers, whose efforts helped warmly welcome prospective families and support the admissions process throughout the year. Director of Athletics Jenn Noon also recognized the dedicated members of the Booster Club for championing school spirit and athletics.

Head of School Sid Rowell offered closing reflections, underscoring the importance of community volunteerism in shaping the GSB experience.

“I want to recognize that our events this year were successful because of the volunteerism of our community,” said Rowell. “Whether it be social events for the adults in our community, or events that build camaraderie and excitement among our students, GSB wouldn’t be the same without things like Culture Night, the Gala, the PAN network, or our Booster’s Club. I am so grateful for everyone who showed up this year, in small or large ways. Just being here today shows your support and commitment to the school’s success, and I remain appreciative of everyone’s dedication to our work.”

Without question, the collective efforts of parent volunteers continue to enrich the GSB experience for students, families, and faculty alike. The Year-End Breakfast served as a meaningful reminder of the strength and generosity of spirit of the Gill St. Bernard’s community.
