GSB Lower School Honors Class of 2033 at Closing Ceremony

Gill St. Bernard’s School marked a special milestone for the Class of 2033 on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, as Fourth Graders celebrated their transition from Lower School to Middle School during the annual Lower School Closing Exercises.

Held in front of proud families and friends, the heartwarming ceremony reflected the spirit and joy of the Lower School community. From student presentations and thoughtful reflections to the traditional pin ceremony, every moment underscored the growth and accomplishments of the Class of 2033.

Lower and Middle School Director Kyle Armstrong P ’21, ’29, ’36 opened the event with a warm welcome and shared words that set the tone for the celebration. As a meaningful keepsake, each student received the book What the Road Said by Cleo Wade.

“Today is only a stop on the journey,” Armstrong told the class. “New opportunities to learn and grow await you, and I am confident that you are all well prepared to face your future with courage and confidence.”

This year’s Closing Exercises featured a touching video montage of students' experiences, highlights from the year, and a student-led kindness presentation. The ceremony concluded on a joyful note with the Fourth Grade Chorus singing a spirited rendition of George Harrison’s “Here Comes the Sun.”

Lower School Assistant Director Jill Fedon P ’27 led the presentation of pins, officially welcoming the Class of 2033 into Middle School, and Head of School Sid Rowell P ’08, ’14 presented the prestigious Amol Ajinkya Citizenship Award to this year’s honoree, Ripley Harding.

Congratulations to the entire Lower School on a successful year, and best wishes to our rising Middle Schoolers as they begin their next adventure!
