Sequins, tulle, velvet, and red plaid were on cheerful display at the Gill St. Bernard’s Lower School Holiday Concert on Friday. Held in the Matthews Theater of the Performing Arts & Community Center, the event was the second of four musical productions orchestrated to usher in the holiday season.
The concert commenced with a heartfelt rendition of GSB’s “Alma Mater,” the first time the song had been sung in person by the Lower School in almost two years. Grades One through Four took turns singing and providing musical accompaniment on instruments such as chimes, glockenspiel, and recorder. “Moonlight on Snow” was particularly masterful and invoked the beauty and spirit of the season. The mix of traditional and new tunes lifted the hearts of all who attended and was the perfect way to end a busy week.
