GSB Ice Hockey Laces Up for the Challenge

GSB Ice Hockey enters the locker room this winter prepared to improve each and every day. By staying focused on improvement—practice by practice, game by game—the team is confident that everything will fall into place.

"We're extremely excited for the challenges ahead of us this season,” commented seven-year GSB veterans and Co-Head Coaches Greg DaSilva and Chris Wiggins. “We feel confident in the group we have in the locker room. Everyone is on the same page and is wholeheartedly committed to a growth mindset and a team-first mentality.”

Junior defenseman and Captain Porter Clark will lead the team-first charge, inspiring those around him to be a little bit better, every day.

“Porter leads by example,” said Co-Head Coaches DaSilva and Wiggins. “He focuses on the little details that, over time, can add up to big change.”

A strong lineup of seniors will share in the team’s competitive aspirations including forwards Paige Bruckner, Nico Gattoni, Adam LaTournous, and Rohan Nagpaul. They are joined by returning junior and Haas Division Honorable Mention recipient Michael Scarpati and junior transfer student and newcomer Julian Tramontano. Experienced juniors Brad Matthews, Henry Smith, and George Taylor will round out the roster, adding all-important depth to the bench.

“We are excited to work with our new players as they start their GSB Hockey careers, including three defensive freshman who we anticipate being very impactful right from the start: goalie Luc Jansson and defensemen Brendan Binder and Trey Sanford,” Co-Head Coaches DaSilva and Wiggins said.

"Facing adversity is inevitable, and our success is going to come down to how we respond and learn from our mistakes, allowing us to evolve into the team we're capable of being."

The Knights take on Bernards High School for their season opener on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Mennen Arena.
