The GSB Golf Program has high hopes this season.
After an up-and-down 2022 season, the Knights enter this spring looking to regain their place at the top of the Skyland Conference standings. This year’s team will be led by co-captains Evan Wortman ‘23 and Lance Hollingshead ‘24. Three-time letterwinner Wortman follows up a solid junior season ready to improve on his low scores. Hollingshead, who has committed to continue his career at Notre Dame, will once again look to qualify for the Non-Public B Championship and Tournament of Champions.
Other key contributors are headlined by seniors Austin Carey and Jackson Ketterson. With more than 15 new players vying for a position this year, the program has built a healthy pipeline of underclassmen ready to compete at the varsity level and improve their individual skills.
Head Coach Keith James, who enters his third season at the helm of the program, has high expectations for this year’s talented group of players.
“I expect our team to be very competitive. We’re looking to capture both the Division and Conference titles this year. Beyond that, we should have an excellent showing in the Somerset County Tournament and be one of the favorites to win the Non-Public B State Championship.”
