With a young but talented roster, the GSB Girls’ Lacrosse team enters their 2023 season prepared to get better every day.
“I’m very excited for this season,” said Head Coach Denise Wilson, who begins her fifth season leading the program.
“We lost some great Senior athletes last year, and I know that my alums are doing incredible things in their collegiate endeavors. Now, the challenge is finding who will fill those voids and rise to the challenge, hopefully leading Gill St. Bernards to a winning season.”
The 2023 Knights are led by senior co-captains Paige Brucker and Ava DiCesare who each enter their fourth year with the program. Brucker, a First Team All-Valley selection, will be counted on to bolster the team’s defense as goalkeeper while DiCesare leads the midfield in clean transitions and controlling ball possession. Other key contributors include returning starters Barbara Caspersen and Tessa Lozner, as well as Alyssa Loss who each will be relied on to lead the attackers. Lozner returns as the team's leading scorer after pouring in 46 goals her freshman year.
With a crop of returning varsity letterwinners and athletes who are brand new to the sport, Coach Wilson is thrilled to see players gain valuable experience and evolve into incredible assets to the team. The 2023 roster is filled out by juniors Isabel Barsanti, Charlotte Binder, Sam Tighe, Elliana Toledo, and Lily Walker; sophomores Sofia Criscola, Gianna Frangello, Alexa Gnapp, Sidney Quinn, Ava Roslund, and Libby Scott; and freshmen Emily Byrne, Cameron Coates, Caroline Collins, CeCe Criscola, Mia Liberti, Aliza Riaz, and Ariana Tellalian.
