GSB Founders’ Day 2022 was an incredible success thanks to the generosity and school spirit of our community.
As one of Gill St. Bernard’s newest school traditions, Founders’ Day is an annual event each March that’s dedicated to celebrating the storied history of our school. Over 24 hours, the full GSB community – current families, faculty, staff, trustees, alumni – joins together in a fundraising campaign for the GSB Fund. Rather than focusing on dollar amounts, the campaign is centered around participation and promoting a deep sense of school pride.
The full GSB community rallied together to make 439 separate gifts in the second annual Founders’ Day—an 11% increase from last year’s total. Current GSB families were incredibly generous, providing 1/3rd of all gifts while faculty and staff doubled their participation from last year!
In total, the GSB community raised $190,000—a 43% increase from last year’s amount— to provide budgetary support for GSB’s academics, student programs, financial aid, scholarships, and faculty development.

Finding Our GSB Pride
One of the most moving parts of Founders’ Day is hearing firsthand accounts of what Gill St. Bernard’s means to our community. Included below are a handful of reflections of what community members found at Gill St. Bernard’s over the years, and how their time at Gill has made an impact.
“I found everlasting friendship and my passion!”
“I’ve found support, balance, peace and a guide towards the future! Thank you!”
“I found lifelong friendships.”
“I am a founder because of all of the incredible faculty and staff who invested in my growth and success at Gill.”
“GSB changed my life and the life of my daughter, Kelly, GSB class of 2017. THANK YOU.”
“Gill has been an unbelievable, all-encompassing experience for our son and our family. Thank you for the last seven years.”
“Our son, Andrés González, received a great education at GSB. Additionally, he was a member of the soccer team, coached by Tony Bednarsky, who was great to him. Andrés has since graduated from Colgate University, Class of 2021, with high honors and is now working at Barclays in NYC. We can attribute his success, in part, because he attended GSB. We’ll always be thankful to the school!”
“Our family is proud to support the teachers and students at GSB! Thank you for welcoming us to the Gill community this year.”
I never truly realized how great my GSB education was until I went away to college. Thank you, Gill!
“Thankful for a great education, community, and wonderful opportunities!”
“Our family is lucky to be part of the GSB community in many ways: as student, faculty, and parent volunteer. Thank you GSB!” “GSB is a value-based organization that is truly dedicated to helping everyone be the best that they can be.”
