Over 150 parents attended our PA Annual Welcome Breakfast on Tuesday, September 14. The tent in the Todd Quad was filled with decorated table displays promoting the many signature events/activities planned for the upcoming school year.

PA President, Sheri Cohen, welcomed the crowd and introduced the 2021-22 PA Executive Committee including, Vice President Sacha Marcucci, Secretary Suzanne Hardy, and Treasurer Dawn Richardson. Then she asked the full PA Steering Committee, consisting of 31 members, to stand up and be recognized.

Several Chairs spoke at the podium sharing highlights and encouraging other parents to volunteer, while promising some fun, great rewards and new friends along the way. The PA launched their Pie Sale and announced the Tuition Raffle Sale is now open with the drawing taking place in January.

Head of School, Sid Rowell spoke about some of his summer readings and reflected on the nature of the partnership between school and parents. Revealing some basic truths about school life, he wrapped up his comments noting, “We care about your children, and we want them to be successful.”

Each guest received a packed folder of informational flyers and had the opportunity to purchase GSB spirit wear at the Booster sale tables.

Sheri Cohen reminded everyone that continued updates can be found each week in the GSB Friday newsletter. She thanked all presenters and guests and wished fellow parents a great new school year ahead.
