It was 2019, two years ago, the last time the Gill St. Bernard’s School community came together for the annual GSB Homecoming / Family Day. With COVID-19 cancelling the 2020 festivities, the 2021 day proved to be worth the wait. A perfect fall day set the backdrop for campus to shine as the Knights hosted a full day of athletic competitions. Many activities were available for families, bringing smiles to all who attended. From pumpkin painting to goat petting to face painting, there was something for everyone. A delicious picnic lunch and ice cream truck ensured no one left hungry. And with the Boosters, Home Winds Farm and the school store selling GSB gear, everyone had an opportunity to add some Knights flair to their closets.
Without a doubt, a highlight of the day was watching Upper School Director, Dr. Joel Coleman, head to the dunk tank dressed in his tuxedo. A line quickly formed, but he was dunked on only the second attempt! Many students took their turns thereafter, making for a long, wet hour for Dr. Coleman.
"Thank you to all who showed up on a glorious Saturday to support fellow Knights," commented Homecoming/Family Day Co-Chairs, Celeste Campos and Brenda Liberti. "Because of you, the spirit of homecoming was bright and strong."
A special thanks to our Homecoming/Family Day Co-Chairs as well as all of our parent, student, and faculty volunteers for the work they put in to make the day such a success. We already can’t wait for next year!
