GSB Baseball Has Another Championship Season

GSB Baseball Has Another Championship Season

The Gill St. Bernard's Varsity Baseball team had much to celebrate in 2025, including its highest win total since 2022 and a second consecutive Prep B Championship. The highlight of the season was clearly the Prep B Tournament run, which included wins over Morristown-Beard and Newark Academy, and culminated in a dramatic come-from-behind 5-2 victory over Pennington in the title game at Diamond Nation.

In addition to the team's success, several players earned post-season individual honors. Manhattan-commit Joey Dwek '25, Jack Markovich '26, Drew Aromando '27, and Niko West '27 were named to the All-Prep B Tournament team and earned All-Conference recognition. Gavin Bucceri '27 and Owen Ehrenkranz '28 made second team All-Conference, and Joey Fava '26 received Honorable Mention by the Skyland Conference.

Despite battling significant injuries, senior Bobby Niesmertelny provided invaluable leadership throughout the season, especially for first-year starters Trip Hegarty '28 and Andersen Eide '27. Junior Jude Waters was a defensive stalwart in both the infield and outfield, junior Luc Jansson was fearless on the basepaths, and other key contributors included Steven McRae '26, Declan Marcucci '26, Aksh Kothari '27, Noah Schultz '28, and A.J. Kolenski '28.

"I can't thank these players enough for their dedication and commitment to Gill Baseball," said Varsity Head Coach Dave Pasquale. "The future is incredibly bright for the program and there is no doubt more championships are on the horizon."
