Girls' Soccer Season Looks Bright

For the upcoming girls’ soccer season, Head Coach Michael Williams is optimistic about his team’s prospects, thanks to an abundance of returning talent and formidable newcomers.

“We’re looking for a top-three finish in the conference, and I believe we have a good chance of getting to the state sectional semifinal, maybe even the final and beyond,” said Coach Williams, who is starting his ninth year at GSB. “We have a core group of juniors driving this team, but our seniors have already demonstrated tremendous leadership with Lea Gnoy '22 and Kellyn Bucceri '22 marshalling our backline.”

Returning standouts include Forward Dana Lotito '24, a top scorer last season with eight goals; Midfielder Delaney Yates '23, who made seven assists last year; Lea Gnoy, starting her fourth season as a Knights defender; Goalkeeper Kellyn Bucceri; Jadyn Mapura '23, a midfield maestro; and Grace Crimi '23, another strong midfielder.

As for new players, Coach Williams welcomes Forward Meredith Klosek '25, Maya Abramson '25, and Addison Rodriguez '25, who plays both defender and midfield. Other projected starters include Ankora Sant’Angelo '23 in goal; Ava Dicesare '23 and Lauren Rossiter '23 as defenders, as well as additional senior leaders who have proven themselves, including Midfielder Mia Kolb '22; Defender Katie Scott '22, and Forward Tess Kelly '22. Athletes looking to contribute their skills include Josephine Adebambo '25, Olivia Bailey '24, Kendall Bell '25, Charlotte Binder '24, Karlita Cadena '24, and Sofia Criscola '25. Throughout the season, Assistant Coach Kristen Armstrong will provide support.
