Gill St. Bernard's College Athletics Signing Day 2024

Gill St. Bernard's College Athletics Signing Day 2024

During GSB's annual College Athletics Signing Day ceremony, 14 senior student-athletes from the Class of 2025 committed to compete at the Division I, II, or III level in college next season.

Maya Abramson, Colin Anderson, Noah Blinkoff, Zach Blinkoff, Joey Dwek, Robert Herrington, Meredith Klosek, Tessa Lozner, Gandy Malou-Mamel, Dylan Palmieri, Sidney Quinn, Daniel Scali, Emily Titsworth, and Max Voigt were joined by family, coaches, and friends in the Athletic Center to celebrate their athletic accomplishments and commemorate the next phase in their respective athletic careers.

Maya Ambramson (Stevens Institute of Technology, Basketball)

"Maya came to Gill and has made an immediate impact on and off the court at GSB. She is an extremely unselfish player that has done everything that has been asked of her. This season she will be a four-year varsity letter winner and a returning all-conference player. Maya has contributed in so many ways and has played a major role in the teams’ success. Her leadership and work ethic will be a separator for Maya as she continues her journey and will play at Stevens University. Maya has really changed the culture of the GSB Basketball program. I have no doubt that her best years are ahead, and she will be extremely successful in her future. Stevens got a great one!"

- Coach Gnapp, GSB Girls' Basketball

Colin Anderson (University of Vermont, Lacrosse)

"Colin is the first goalie to win two state titles while continuing the tradition of Division I goalies.  His ability to make doorstep saves and the quick outlet for a two-goal swing is just one of the many reasons why Colin has been named All-State and All-League during his illustrious career.  Colin commands the defense and has made 342 saves up till this point.  I am looking forward to seeing Colin make an immediate impact as a Catamount."

- Coach Collins, GSB Boys' Lacrosse

Noah Blinkoff (Lafayette College, Lacrosse)

"Noah is a senior defender who stepped right in the starting lineup the moment he got to campus. He is a big physical defender who can throw checks while being an enforcer on the defensive side of the ball. Noah put in the time to transform himself into a Division I defender. It has been something special to see his work ethic translate into an excellent player but more importantly a role model student who his peers look up to. Hard work does pay off and Noah is truly an example of just that. His best years are still ahead of him, and I look forward to not seeing what he will do this spring but, in the years, to come at Lafayette College."

- Coach Collins, GSB Boys' Lacrosse

Zach Blinkoff (Rollins College, Lacrosse)

"As a two-year transfer, Zach had a huge impact on the success of the Boys Lacrosse team.  Zach was a versatile player that played midfield, attack and man-up for the Knights.  His ability to see the field is one of his best assets.  Zach is always trying to make his teammates better both on and off the field whether he is trying to outwit his opponents or just tweak the attacks’ positioning.  Zach is the assist to the assister, creating many offensive opportunities for others.  I think very highly of Zach and has stated he is the glue that keeps everything together.  Rollins is lucky to have Zach, and I am excited to see what is in store for his future."

- Coach Collins, GSB Boys' Lacrosse

Joey Dwek (Manhattan College, Baseball)

"Joey Dwek came into our program as a junior and made an immediate impact on and off the field. He had already established himself as a high-level lefty pitcher and right away he added an important dimension to our rotation. He finished the season as our most consistent starting pitcher, earning multiple post season honors, and tossing a three-hit gem in the Prep B Semifinals. He was also a productive position player all season at the plate and in the outfield. In the Prep B championship, he had a key hit and made a spectacular play in center field to help us capture our first title since 2015. Above all, Joey is an incredibly hard worker and a fantastic teammate. His leadership skills in the off-season have already made an impact on the new players we'll be counting on this spring. I have no doubt that his success at Gill will carry over into an outstanding Division One career at Manhattan."

- Coach Pasquale, GSB Baseball

Robert Herrington (Hofstra University, Lacrosse)

"Bert has always been a true athlete, being asked to play multiple positions during his time in the lacrosse program. He started as a midfielder, but has played attack, man-up, man-down and even has taken face-offs.  His ability to guard people, cause turnovers, put the ball on the ground, then pick up the ground ball and start our transition game has done wonders for our program. In addition, Bert has transformed into a threat on the offensive side of the ball with multiple goals and assists last season.  Not only is Bert a workhorse, but he is also the energizer bunny that gets everything going.  Hofstra University has landed a stud!"

- Coach Collins, GSB Boys' Lacrosse

Meredith Klosek (Pace University, Soccer)

"What I love most about Mere is her resiliency to overcome adversity since her Freshman and Junior year were cut short due to injury.  Mere is a four-year starter and captain of the Girls Soccer Team.  Her ability to put points on her stat sheet has been crucial in the successes of the Girls Soccer Team especially this year with a 19-3 record.  Mere has had either a goal or an assist in every game tallying 25 goals and 26 assists this season.  She currently has 38 career goals, putting her 11th on the All-Time Goal List, and 55 career assists, placing 3rd All-Time in Assists.  Mere has been instrumental in changing the direction of the Girls’ Soccer team and has put the Lady Knights back on the soccer map in New Jersey.  I am very confident Mere Klosek will make an immediate impact at Pace University next year!"

- Coach Bednarsky, GSB Girls' Soccer

Tessa Lozner (Johns Hopkins University, Basketball)

"One thing I know is that GSB will not be the same without Tessa Lozner. Tessa has had the ability to bring the team together and provide leadership in so many ways. Her work ethic, toughness and determination has set her apart from others and has made the way for her to continue playing basketball at the next level. Tessa is a returning all-conference player who led the entire state in assists last season. She will be a four-year varsity letter winner who has dominated games in many ways and has been a big part of the team’s success over these past three years. I cannot wait to see and hear about all of Tessa’s successes at Johns Hopkins. They got a steal in Dr. Lozner."

- Coach Gnapp, GSB Girls Basketball

Gandy Malou-Mamel (University of Connecticut, Basketball)

"What an absolute pleasure to have Gandy at Gill for the past three years. Gandy is a returning all-state player, as well as one of the top players in the country.  She has come in and helped change the GSB girls’ basketball program into one of the top teams in the state. I love watching the growth of her game over the past three years but what is most impressive is how her teammates rally behind her and how well she is perceived on and off the court at Gill. Gandy is really a special kid that will do amazing things, plus she’s even a little bit funny. I am so excited for her as she will continue her academic/athletic career at the perennial powerhouse UCONN. Gandy will be a name we will hear about for many years."

- Coach Gnapp, GSB Girls' Basketball

Dylan Palmieri (Hobart College, Soccer)

"Dylan has been a standout player for our program ever since he pushed his way into the starting lineup as a sophomore. Over those three seasons, he has earned all-conference, all-county, all-prep, and all-state recognition playing as a center back and the anchor of our defense. In addition, Dylan was selected to the New Jersey Senior Soccer All-Star Game this December.  As one of our captains this season, Dylan has displayed his leadership by setting an example on the field for his teammates to emulate. A hardworking and coachable player, Dylan's skillset should easily transition and adjust to the college game. Over his tenure as a GSB player, he is always looking for self-criticism to learn and grow from in order to be the best he can be. Always a stalworth defender, Dylan has also pushed forward and scored some timely goals via set pieces. His presence on and off the field will be missed, but we are confident that he will be an impact player at Hobart for the years to come."

- Coach Bednarsky and Coach DiBisceglie, GSB Boys' Soccer

Sidney Quinn (United States Naval Academy, Basketball)

"Sidney Quinn is another player that has helped change the culture and success of GSB girls’ basketball.  She will be a four-year varsity letter winner, returning all-conference and state player. Her work ethic and improvement each year is a credit to Sid as she has become one of the top players in the state. Sid also provides competitiveness, leadership and high IQ that has really separated her from others. She has become one of the top shooters in the state. Sid will continue her journey at Navy which is about as impressive as it gets. I know Sid will be extremely successful on and off the court and there is no one better to serve our country. Navy is incredibly lucky to have her!"

- Coach Gnapp, GSB Girls' Basketball

Daniel Scali (Hobart College, Soccer)

"Scali has been a four-year starter and three time state champion in our program. A very versatile and skillful performer, he has received all-conference, all-county, all-prep, and all-state recognition while playing a variety of attacking positions. As one of our captains this year, he has provided a combination of both leadership and inspiration. In addition to his consistent play, Daniel has displayed a knack for providing clutch goals and assists in key moments. Always a fiery competitor, he displays tenacity and courage letting nothing deter him from performing. He was sidelined with a broken collarbone twice over the course of his senior season, and managed dramatic comebacks to be the inspiration to his teammates. Nothing would be better than to send Scali off with four state titles in his illustrious career at Gill. He has also served the GSB community quite well, representing the honor board and search committee while balancing a rigorous academic schedule, as well as a full schedule of extra-curricular activities. We wish him the best of luck in continuing his career as a student-athlete as a Hobart Statesmen."

- Coach Bednarsky and Coach DiBisceglie, GSB Boys' Soccer

Emily Titsworth (Juniata College, Softball)

"A four-year starter and All Conference player Emily cannot be replaced. She has led GSB to 3 consecutive Prep B State titles through sheer will and determination. Her work ethic inspires our team by example while also being our most enthusiastic cheerleader. Juniata isn't just getting a great player but a fantastic leader and even better person."

- Coach Surella, GSB Softball

Max Voigt (Dartmouth College, Lacrosse)

"Max Voigt was elected captain by his teammates for this upcoming season. He has been a very versatile player for the program over the last three years, starting in all three seasons. Max started at both attack & midfield and has been a top scorer during both his sophomore & junior campaigns. Max is someone that teammates look up to both on and off the field. His energy in the big moments proves he can score big goals in big games!  He has currently won five state championships (3 in soccer and 2 in lacrosse) and has also scored over 100 goals during his junior season.  Best of luck at Dartmouth College."
