Middle School Band Strikes a Chord at Spring Concert

On May 20, 2026, the Matthews Theater in the Performing Arts and Community Center came alive with music as Gill St. Bernard’s Middle School Band presented its annual Spring Concert. Under the direction of Middle School Band Director Damien Villeneuve and Assistant Director Jennifer Branch, students delivered an engaging and energetic performance that reflected their growth, dedication, and enthusiasm throughout the year.

The concert featured a diverse ensemble of musicians performing on trumpet, trombone, flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, baritone saxophone, violin, keyboard, and percussion. Together, the students created a dynamic program that showcased both individual talent and the power of collaboration through music.

From lively melodies to carefully coordinated rhythms, the evening highlighted the confidence and musicianship students have developed through months of practice and teamwork. Families, friends, and faculty filled the theater with applause and support, celebrating the students’ accomplishments and love of performance.

The Spring Concert also served as a reminder of the important role the arts play in education. Participation in music programs helps students build creativity, discipline, collaboration, and self-expression — skills that extend far beyond the stage.

Thank you to our GSB families for supporting your children’s musical journeys and helping the arts continue to thrive within our community.
