On May 15, 2025, the Matthews Theater of the Performing Arts and Community Center was filled with the vibrant sounds of the Gill St. Bernard’s Middle School Band during their much-anticipated spring concert. Under the skilled direction of Middle School Band Director Damien Villeneuve, Assistant Director Jennifer Branch, and Brass Assistant Wendy Relation, student musicians delivered a spirited performance that showcased months of dedication and hard work.
The ensemble featured a wide range of instruments, including trumpet, trombone, flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, alto saxophone, baritone saxophone, and percussion. Each section contributed to a dynamic and memorable evening, highlighting the power of collaboration and the joy of live music.
Beyond the performance itself, the concert served as a reminder of music’s vital role in education. Studies continue to show that music enhances brain development, supporting everything from language skills to emotional intelligence and spatial reasoning.
Thank you to our GSB families for encouraging your children to pursue music and supporting their creative journeys. Your commitment helps keep the arts thriving at our school!
