Gill St. Bernard's College Athletics Signing Day Spring 2026

Gill St. Bernard's College Athletics Signing Day Spring 2026

During Gill St. Bernard’s annual Spring College Signing Day on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, three senior student-athletes from the Class of 2026 officially committed to furthering their playing career at the college level next year.

With this final round of signings, GSB will graduate 13 high school students in the senior class committed to competing at the NCAA Division I, II, or III level. This number translates to 15% of the grade.

Held in the Athletic Center, the celebration brought together families, coaches, and friends to honor each student’s hard work, dedication, and achievements as they prepare to take the next step in their athletic and academic journeys.

As Director of Athletics Jenn Noon stated, “Being a student-athlete requires remarkable commitment. It demands discipline, strong time management, resilience, and an unwavering work ethic. These athletes balanced academics, athletics, and personal responsibilities, all while striving to be the best versions of themselves. That is something to be incredibly proud of.”

Anastasia Chatikhine (Tufts University, Fencing)

“Anastasia is one of the best fencers that I have coached in my 19 years of coaching. This year, I had the honor of taking over the fencing program at Gill St. Bernard's. From the moment I started, Anastasia has been an invaluable partner in our efforts to rebuild the team. She has helped me navigate the school culture, actively recruited underclassmen, and advocated for the program with teachers. When we learned we would not have a full varsity season this year, her commitment never wavered. Even before knowing this, Anastasia volunteered to help train our newer fencers and assist with competitions to ensure the program's future growth. I can't wait to see what she does at Tufts in the coming season and know she'll make us proud in all that she will accomplish."

- Coach Malecki, GSB Fencing

Brandon Ferreira (Fairleigh Dickinson University, Soccer)

“It has been such a pleasure being able to watch Branden flourish over his four years with the soccer program. He started as a gritty, determined freshman that was never afraid to get stuck in to tackles despite his size, and it was clear that he wanted to prove his worth right from day one. Having his older brother John as a teammate for his first two years always kept him motivated to be his best both on and off the field. He was a pivotal member of three state title winning teams, tallying 30 points over his four seasons with Gill, as well as receiving All-Prep, All-County, and All-Conference awards his senior year. Branden also holds the record for the quickest goal scored in a Somerset County Final game his junior year versus Pingry, scoring the opening goal just 12 seconds into the game. We have no doubt that he will start his tenure at FDU just like he did here, determined to make a great first impression with his new teammates. We wish Branden the best of luck in this new chapter at FDU!”

- Coach Bednarsky and Coach DiBisceglie, GSB Boys’ Soccer

Declan Marcucci (Drew University, Baseball)

“As a multi-sport athlete, Declan Marcucci has made great strides this spring on the baseball diamond. His positive attitude is infectious and his impact as a great teammate on the younger players is immeasurable. It is a pleasure to see Declan's love of the game grow and the energy he brings to the team every day. I am eager to see Declan's development at the next level for Drew University!”

- Coach Quinn, GSB Baseball

“Declan has been one of the most dedicated, motivated, and inspirational players that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. No matter what the circumstances have been, he has always had a positive outlook for himself and his teammates, and his positive energy was contagious amongst his team. Easily one of the most likeable teammates to be around and his presence will be hard to replace! Congratulations Declan!”
