During Gill St. Bernard’s annual Spring College Signing Day on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, five senior student-athletes from the Class of 2025 officially committed to furthering their playing career at the college level next year.
With this final round of signings, GSB will graduate 18 high school students in the senior class committed to competing at the NCAA Division I, II, or III level. This number translates to 21% of the grade, which is a record for the school.
Held in the Athletic Center, the celebration brought together families, coaches, and friends to honor each student’s hard work, dedication, and achievements as they prepare to take the next step in their athletic and academic journeys.
As Director of Athletics Jenn Noon stated, “Being a student-athlete does not come easy; it requires a committed mindset, the ability to manage your time wisely encompassing academics, athletics, and social priorities. It requires grit and hard work and an intense passion for the game. Congratulations to all our student-athletes on a job well done.”
Alex Chyzowych (Arcadia University, Soccer)
“It was a pleasure to coach Alex Chyzowych throughout his stellar GSB soccer career. Alex exemplified hard work and dedication both on and off the pitch. He always put team success above any personal stats or individual accolades. His resilience in battling through injuries inspired teammates and fans alike. Team spirit, attitude, and commitment made him an essential member of our championship teams.
Alex leaves GSB soccer with the distinction of being the only Knight to score twice in one game versus our archrival Pingry. He was a member of 4 consecutive state championship teams and with two by his older brother, Chris, congratulations to the entire Chyzowych family for 6 straight championship seasons! We wish Alex continued success at Arcadia!”
- Coach Bednarsky and Coach DiBisceglie, GSB Boys' Soccer
Kobe Closeil (Trinity College, Basketball)
“Kobe had an amazing four-year journey at GSB, where he continued to improve each and every year. His relentless pursuit of excellence and leadership on and off the court has set the standard for all our players. I congratulate Kobe on his recent commitment to Division III National Champions, Trinity College. I know Kobe will continue to work and make an impact at the next level!
Kobe has been a great leader and captain for our GSB program. He has been a model student-athlete on our campus. His commitment to Trinity College is a testament to his talent and dedication. I can't wait to see how Kobe will excel in this next chapter of his journey.”
- Coach Sina, GSB Boys’ Basketball
Tessa Lozner (Tufts University, Basketball)
“What an absolute pleasure to coach Tessa and see her develop into one of the top point guards in the state. Her work ethic, toughness, and determination has set her apart from others and has made the way for her to continue playing basketball at the next level.
Tessa is a three-year all-conference player, who led the entire state in assists her junior season. She is a four-year varsity letter winner, who has dominated games in many ways and has been a big part of the team’s success over these past four years. Tessa also has represented GSB as our female scholar-athlete. I cannot wait to see and hear about all of Tessa’s successes at Tufts University.”
- Coach Gnapp, GSB Girls' Basketball
Cassidy Moore (Millersville University, Basketball)
“I am really going to miss having and seeing Cassidy’s toughness, quickness, kindness, and infectious laugh. Cassidy is a four-year varsity letter winner who we relied on to do so many things to help in our team’s success. She always provided game-changing energy as soon as she stepped onto the court.
Cassidy is a two-year honorable mention all-conference player. Her senior year she had over 30 threes and shot 35% from behind the arc and always seemed to hit a big shot when we needed it the most. I am extremely excited to see Cassidy continue her academic and athletic journey at Millersville University.”
- Coach Gnapp, GSB Girls' Basketball
Stanley Njekwe (Post University, Basketball)
“Stanley had two outstanding seasons with us as a Knight, and I truly wish we had him for longer! He will go down as one of the best defensive players I've ever coached in my 20 + years at GSB. I am incredibly proud of his commitment to Post University, and I have no doubt that he will continue to shine and make an impact at the collegiate level.
I am extremely excited about Stanley's commitment, and I know that Stanley will continue to shine academically and athletically at Post University. Without a doubt, I know he will make an impact day one in the CACC conference.”
