Gill St. Bernard's School proudly kicked off the 2023-24 school year in the annual Convocation ceremony.
During the event, Head of School Sid Rowell, Board of Trustees Chair Doug Matthews, and Upper School Director Dr. Joel Coleman welcomed faculty, families, and students from all three divisions to the Athletic Center to participate in the school's time-honored tradition. After opening remarks from Mr. Rowell, Mr. Matthews, and Dr. Coleman, GSB Student Body President Dakauri Pinckney '24 shared this year's annual class reading, Be You by Peter H. Reynolds. Following his reading, Mr. Matthews then inducted the newest members of the Board of Trustees: John Coates P'26 '27, Haresh Kane P'29 '34, and Mike Petillo P’26, ’27.
The ceremony concluded with the Senior Investiture Ceremony, led by Assistant Upper School Director & Director of College Guidance Kerri Ann Small, in which each member of the Class of 2024 signed their name in the Senior Registry to pledged to “work at all times for the good of the school, and strive to exemplify the characteristics of faith, honor, and consideration in keeping with our school’s worthy traditions.”
