Four Class of 2023 Knights Commit to Play in College

During GSB's spring athletic ceremony, four senior student-athletes from the Class of 2023 committed to compete at the Division I, II, or III level in college next season.

Aniyah Boston, Nicholas Collins, Nick Losada, and Jadyn Mapura were accompanied by family, coaches, and GSB faculty in the Athletic Center as they took the next step in their respective athletic careers. These four Knights join our six student-athletes who committed during our fall ceremony.

Aniyah Boston (Wheaton, basketball and track & field)

Mark Gnapp, Head Girls' Basketball Coach shares, "Aniyah has brought so much to the Gill community on and off the court.  Her unselfishness and work ethic are unmatched.  We are so excited for Aniyah on her commitment to Wheaton College. Best of luck!"

Aniyah's Head Track and Field Coach Steve Leo also says, "Aniyah is one of the toughest and hardest working athletes I have had the privilege to coach. She competes in everything from practices, to drills, and especially at meets. Anyiah pushes everyone around her to do their best, and Wheaton will benefit from her work ethic. I wish her all the best in her collegiate career."

Nicholas Collins (Rutgers, soccer)

Tony Bednarsky, Head Boys' Soccer Coach says proudly, "Nick was a dominant player from the moment he set foot on the GSB campus his sophomore year. As a three-year starter at center back, Nick was an integral part of three consecutive state championship seasons. Nick was named to various all-conference, all-prep, all-county, and all-state first teams. More importantly, he played and conducted himself with poise, class, and respect for the game. Rutgers will gain not only the best defensive player in the state, but one of the top prospects in the nation.

It was an honor and privilege to coach Nick Collins for three seasons."

Nick Losada (Gettysburg, basketball)

Head Boys' Basketball Coach Mergin Sina comments, "Nick has been a three-year letter winner, a two-year starter, and senior captain for our program. Nick, a shooting guard, has transformed into a great player over his time at GSB.  His athleticism and his knack for three-point shooting will certainly be missed. It was an honor and privilege to coach Nick, and I wish him nothing but success at Gettysburg College."

Jadyn Mapura (Babson, soccer)

Donna Bednarsky, Head Girls' Soccer Coach, states, "Having the privilege to coach Jadyn for only a year, she immediately made a lasting impression with her aggressiveness and speed! Jadyn is a versatile player that can play anywhere and always put the needs of the team first. Jadyn was an all-conference and all-prep player over her career at GSB. We wish her nothing but success as a soccer student-athlete at Babson next year!"

Congratulations to our Knights!
