Blue in the Face Turns Up the Volume

On Saturday, February 7, 2026, GSB’s Blue in the Face took the stage in the Performing Arts & Community Center for the annual Joe Show, delivering an unforgettable evening of live music and school spirit.

Blue in the Face, the Upper School band dedicated to popular music styles including pop, R&B, jazz, and more, once again proved why the Joe Show is a highlight of the winter season. Under the direction of GSB Music Director Jack Williams III, students lit up the stage with dynamic vocals and impressive instrumentation, creating a concert experience that felt more like a professional live show than a traditional recital.

This year’s set list featured an exciting mix of crowd favorites and contemporary hits, with music from artists including Michael Jackson, Bon Jovi, Laufey, Olivia Dean, and more. From powerhouse vocals to electric guitar solos and tight rhythm sections, the ensemble truly rocked the stage, captivating the audience from start to finish.

Reflecting on the evening, Williams shared, “Blue in the Face continues to raise the bar each year. The energy, musicianship, and commitment these students bring to the stage is incredible. I am so proud of the hard work they put in to make the Joe Show such a special night.”

Beyond the music, the Joe Show was a celebration of collaboration, creativity, and the dedication these Upper School musicians bring to their craft all year long.
