An All-American Award for a Stand-Out Senior

The United Soccer Coaches selected Micaah Garnette '21 to the 2020 High School Boys All-America Team. With this recognition, he is named one of the best high school soccer players in the nation. Micaah will be formally recognized by the United Soccer Coaches at a digital event on Saturday, January 16, 2021.

For the 2020 soccer season, Micaah scored 21 goals and 14 assists in 14 games, and named him the 2020 Player of the Year. Additional honors include Skyland Conference boys' soccer player of the year, and for the second time, he is among the boys' soccer First Team All-State selections.

Head Soccer Coach Tony Bednarsky is thrilled with today's announcement. "Beyond his proven stats and records in soccer, Micaah is an unselfish, consummate teammate who encourages the younger players," he said. "As good as he is on the field, he has character and integrity and is a person of honor off the field."

Athletic Director Will Taylor shared these sentiments. "This is great recognition for a player who had a fantastic career at Gill, and not just his senior year," he said. "This couldn't have gone to a better kid. He's a quality person, an all-American in every respect."

Congratulations, Micaah! Go Knights!
