Early Childhood Holiday Concert: Sweet Holiday of Song and 35 Years of Nutcracker Magic

The Gill St. Bernard’s School Early Childhood Holiday Concert, "Sweet Holiday of Song," brought the season to a joyful close on December 18, 2025, delighting audiences in Evans Hall. As the final concert of the year, the performance showcased the boundless enthusiasm and holiday spirit of our youngest students in a celebration centered on love, music, and tradition.

Brimming with excitement, Early Childhood students took the stage to perform a lively selection of holiday favorites, including “The Season to Be Singing,” “Five Gingerbread Men,” and the crowd-pleasing “The Cookie-Baking Song.” Accompanied by Early Childhood Music Teacher Becky Burrell, their cheerful voices and animated expressions filled the hall with warmth and smiles.

Following a brief intermission—enhanced by serene live piano music performed by Dr. Jennifer Branch’s talented Lower School students—the audience eagerly returned for the highlight of the afternoon: a cherished GSB tradition. This year’s Nutcracker performance marked the 35th anniversary of the beloved adaptation, a milestone that added special meaning to the moment.

Kindergarten students led the magical retelling, guiding the audience through Clara’s dreamlike journey to the Land of Sweets. With colorful costumes, spirited movement, and undeniable charm, the young performers transformed the stage into a whimsical winter wonderland, honoring a tradition that has delighted generations of GSB families.
