Seven Class of 2022 Knights Sign to Division I Schools

During GSB's annual NLI signing ceremony yesterday, seven senior student-athletes signed National Letters of Intent to compete at the Division I level in college next season.

Connor Albertson, Denver Anglin, Andrew Kania, Joe Licata, Christian Mote, Logan Mote, and Ellis Wilson were accompanied in the Athletic Center by family, coaches, and GSB faculty as they took the next step in their respective athletic careers.

Connor Albertson (Air Force, lacrosse)

Head coach Byron Collins states, "I have known Connor for a long time, he is mature beyond his years. He has been a true leader since he set foot on campus even in his freshman year."

Denver Anglin (Georgetown, basketball)

Head coach Mergin Sina says "Denver has been a four-year starter who brings great leadership and is one of the country's top point guards. He will bring energy and a winning attitude to the Georgetown program. They found a good one!"

Andrew Kania (Brown, basketball)

Head coach Mergin Sina continues, "Drew, has played a big role in the school's success. At 6’8 he is very versatile and can play multiple positions. Brown will be a great fit for him both athletically and academically! Go Knights!"

Joe Licata (Princeton, track and field)

Head coach Steve Leo shares, "Joe has been a 4-year standout thrower not only for GSB but for the State of NJ. He has compiled multiple medals and currently ranks #2 all-time at GSB in the Shot put and Discus behind his brother CJ who is currently a senior thrower at Princeton. Joe finished 4th overall in NJ in the shot put and discus in the 2021 spring season and has a good chance to be the best thrower in NJ in 2022.

Joe is one of the best Track and Field athletes I have ever coached not only in his event but off the track as well. He spends countless hours training his techniques, working out in the weight room, and increasing his knowledge of the sport. There's no doubt in my mind Joe will continue to be a force in the throws this season and in his collegiate career."

Christian Mote (Iona, baseball) and Logan Mote (Iona, baseball)

Head coach Dave Pasquale says "Christian and Logan are everything a coach could want in a student-athlete. They are terrific players, but just as importantly they are outstanding leaders and teammates. They have made an incredible impact on our baseball program and I have no doubt they will do the same at Iona."

Ellis Wilson (Hobart, lacrosse)

Head coach Byron Collins comments, "Ellis has been named to several conference and state teams. Whether on or off the field, Ellis is one of the strongest people I have ever met. Every member on the team looks up to him."

Congratulations to our Knights!
