4th Annual Family Bingo Night Brings the Jersey Shore to GSB

The GSB Parents’ Association transformed the Athletic Center into a Beach Bonanza on Friday, February 10, 2023, for the 4th Annual Family Bingo Night.

Sand shovels, beach buckets, shells, and sunglasses were the theme of the night as over 270 community members gathered to dine on pizza and to try their luck at Bingo, the PA’s signature family fun game night.

Cold weather was a distant memory, at least for a few fun-filled hours, as guests vied for prizes such as Starbucks gift cards, kites, games, GSB swag, Lego sets, spike balls, and craft sets while Mr. Bingo, Tony DeVergillo P’22, emceed the games.

“I loved seeing the Athletic Center fill up as our families arrived. Some were dressed in summer attire or lifeguard clothes, but all had smiles on their faces, excited about the fun ahead,” said PA President Sacha Marcucci P ’26, ’ 29, ’ 32.

“The Bingo Committee did an outstanding job, and Mr. Bingo proved, once again, that he is the emcee with the most stylish attire. Thank you to all our guest callers. It was a fantastic night to be a Knight!”

Throughout the evening’s activities, committee members sporting bright red lifeguard wear kept the event flowing smoothly.

“We had a fabulous evening at the 4th annual GSB Family Bingo Night. It was great to see the excitement in the room from our littlest preschoolers to our upper schoolers and adults,” said chairs Ian Conn P ’28, Jennifer Judd P ’26, ’30, and Jennifer Koester P ’30.

“We loved how this event brings students and families together from the entire GSB community, and we are grateful to our committee for all their support in planning and executing this year's Beach Bingo Bonanza.”

The night concluded with the first grand prize winner taking home a Somerset Patriots Game Package that included 20 tickets and a ceremonial first pitch donated by Rachel and Josh Kalafer P ’29. Five other grand prize winners took home a gift card donated by the PA for a Family Day at Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in Point Pleasant.

Community events like these are made possible by the PA Fundraisers, including pies sales in the fall and the upcoming Fashion Event at Natirar this spring. Look for details about the Fashion Event later this week, and thank you for supporting the Parents’ Association!
