GSB offers many opportunities for parents and alumni to get involved in our school community.

The success of everything the school and the Parents' Association does relies on enthusiastic volunteers. There is no amount of time or talent that cannot be used to help our school and in turn, our students. To learn more, please read about the many volunteer opportunities listed below and please join our efforts today by signing up on the online volunteer form.

  • Annual Fund

The Annual Fund onsists of unrestricted charitable financial contributions to the school. Tuition income does not cover the cost of operating any independent school and GSB counts on additional gifts from parents, alumni, grandparents and friends to help support its programs. The Annual Fund committee works with the school’s development office to contact parents throughout the year through phonathons, letters, and personal solicitations.
  • Arts

Arts volunteers provide support primarily for the Upper School drama department productions, band concerts and chorale performances, as well as student art shows. Volunteers are needed to help organize the choral music library in the Chapel, assist with set construction, paint and decorate the set, and sew costumes for the theatrical productions. Baking for performances and art show is also needed.
  • Athletic Booster Club

The Athletic Booster Club is a fund- and spirit-raising organization that benefits our student-athletes. Your support is welcomed in the form of an annually renewable membership, and in various volunteer opportunities such as becoming a team parent in the Upper and Middle Schools, helping with concessions at Cox Lodge and in the Athletic Center, decorating for Homecoming and "Spirit" days throughout the year, and helping during Lower School events.
  • Annual Auction

The Annual Auction is our school's largest and best-attended GSB community event! The auction has something for everyone including live and silent auction, dinner and dancing. Proceeds support GSB's annual operating budget. Join friends for an enjoyable evening!

The Care Network is a group of parents that sends personal notes of congratulations, encouragement, or consolation, and offers meals or support to GSB families who may need assistance for a period of time.

The Fashion Event is held off-campus each year, featuring a runway presentation of fashions, boutique vendors, themed baskets and lunch. It is a day of fashion, friends, fun and holiday gift shopping! Volunteers help wrap and set up basket donations and sometimes help with table decorations and assembling "swag bags."
  • Homecoming/Family Day

Homecoming / Family Day offers a day filled with rides, games, and activities geared to students of all ages and their families. A picnic lunch is available to all who attend.
