More than 75 golfers turned out for the 13th annual GSB Classic yesterday. Amid beautiful weather, the players shot 27 holes (nine on the championship par-three Hickory course and 18 on the traditional Highlands). Among the 27 holes, 13 offered chances to win a new car with a hole-in-one. The hole-in-one challenge was once again sponsored by Tom Maoli’s, P '16, '20, family of dealerships.
Although no one managed a hole-in-one this year, John de Grandpre P '20 and Kevin Giordano P '14, '19 took the honors for closest to the pin. Other highlights included first place (low gross) for Scott Barbrack's P '25 foursome and first place (low net) for the foursome from Linde-Griffith Construction.
A full day on the course was followed by dinner in the clubhouse and awards. During that time, the winners of the GSB Classic raffle were pulled, with Greg Niccolai P '16 winning the Jerry Seinfeld tickets and Julie Bliss Chan P '22 '20 taking home tickets to Broadway's Dear Evan Hansen.
A special thanks to all of our golfers who came out yesterday to support Gill St. Bernard's and help make the event a success. All proceeds from the tournament benefit the endowment for need-based financial aid.
Gill St. Bernard’s is a private, coeducational day school for students age three through grade 12, located in suburban New Jersey. Each of the three school divisions provides a vigorous, meaningful and age-appropriate curriculum, and all students benefit from the environmental learning opportunities that exist on our 208-acre campus.
