Braving the rainy weather, 135 visitors came to campus today for the school’s third annual revisit day—the school’s largest turnout to date. Guests had the chance to attend classes and talk with students, teachers and coaches. In addition, Head of School Sid Rowell, the admission team and the college counseling team were on hand throughout the day to meet with visitors and answer questions. Other highlights included an activities fair, a tour of Home Winds, and performances by the Wild Knights Jazz Band, the Ambassador Choir and the Lower School Recorder Ensemble.
While rain kept our guests from seeing the campus at its most beautiful, the vital spirit of community for which Gill is renowned could not be dampened. Several current parents and alumni came to welcome the newest members of the GSB community and join in the conversation. Everywhere on campus, impromptu meetings took place among newly-admitted students, parents, teachers and coaches. As Director of Admission Sarah Rowland said, "The genuine warmth and spirt of our school community was everywhere today. Our prospective families left campus knowing what a wonderful community they have found."
