It is safe to say that spring break is probably the most anticipated vacation on the academic calendar. Faculty, parents, and students all look forward to this day and the opportunity to get away, sleep late, or just follow a different routine for two weeks.

It is a good thing to take some time off. Each of us can benefit from a change in scenery or even just a departure from the regular schedule. I do recognize this, even though I don’t always follow it in practice. After all, the responsibilities of a Head of School continue even during vacations. Clearly, one more thing I need to work on…
Gill St. Bernard’s is a private, coeducational day school for students age three through grade 12, located in suburban New Jersey.
