Guess the Campus Locations: Round 1 Recap

How well do you know the Gill campus? We recently shared photographs of three locations on Facebook and Instagram and asked members of our community to make their best guesses.

PHOTO #1: Todd Quad Seal

As part of the Todd Quad construction in 2011, the Gill St. Bernard's School seal was placed within the brick walkway leading from the quad to Hockenbury. Many of us walk over the seal every day without even noticing!

PHOTO #2: Root Cellar

Behind Hockenbury and next to the wood shop is a root cellar, an improvement added to the original St. Bernard's School farm property nearly a century ago! Other improvements at the time included a silo, corn cribs, hay barracks and other small farm buildings.

PHOTO #3: Memorial Bench

Overlooking the turf field, the Lee Kasman Memorial Bench can be found near the Emmitt Lodge. The bench was crafted in honor of Kasman '76, P '16 by friend Tim Terry '76; the 2016 alumni soccer game was also named in honor of Kasman at the suggestion of varsity boys' soccer coach Tony Bednarsky.

Gill St. Bernard’s is a private, coeducational day school for students age three through grade 12, located in suburban New Jersey. Each of the three school divisions provides a rigorous, meaningful and age-appropriate curriculum, and all students benefit from the environmental learning opportunities that exist on our 208-acre campus.
