The Arts are essential to a well-rounded education. It is a multidimensional area where students can develop new ways of thinking and understanding the world, and new ways of expressing themselves.

Teachers in the arts, all artists in their own right, promote creative expression in each child whether through painting, sketching, ceramics, photography, woodshop or the performing arts. GSB students have numerous opportunities to explore their artistic interests, learn the skills required by different mediums of artistic expression, acquire the discipline to excel in a particular area, and possibly discover something new about themselves in the process.

The performing arts program is where students can experience the joy of making music, being part of an instrumental ensemble or choir, or a member of the cast of a theater production. These experiences instill in students a life-long appreciation for the arts and artistic expression.
