Sleeping Beauty Kids Delights Audiences

On Friday and Saturday, the Afterschool Musical Club staged Disney's Sleeping Beauty Kids. The show featured GSB actors and singers in grades first through sixth in a special collaboration between the Lower and Middle School.
This classic fairytale tells the story of Princess Aurora and her fairy godmothers Flora, Fauna and Merryweather who use magic to safeguard the princess from the evil spells of Maleficent. The production featured the beloved song "Once Upon a Dream" from the movie and new songs, including "Malificent!" and "A Little Magic Now."
The Gill production of Sleeping Beauty Kids was presented by Middle School music teacher Amy Southerland and Upper School music teacher David Southerland. Together, the Southerlands have won multiple awards, including two Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards for Outstanding Music Direction.
