JV Basketball: Season Recap

The boys' JV basketball team overcame a difficult schedule as well as some injuries to close the gap as the season unfolded. Highlights from the winter included overtime wins against Ridge and Phillispburg High; in the Ridge matchup, three players hit above the 20-point mark. Leading the team in scoring this season were sophomores John Yoss and Scott Begane, who consistently posted double figures. T.J. Chaney '18, who split his time between varsity and JV matchups, made some significant contributions early in the season. Ryan Morash '18 missed some competitions early in the season before coming back strong to lead the team defensively. Sophomores Isaiah Lipkin and Dan Wang, who led the team in charges taken, rounded out the returning players and added some much needed depth.
The team's freshmen, John Baber, Jacob Farnan, Michael Giammarino, William Goldmark, Clay Goulburn and Abhay Puri, garnered some early action against tough competition and will be expected to take on larger roles next season.
