Varsity Boys' Soccer Claims State Title

Justin Durcan ’14 had one goal and an assist to lead the Gill St. Bernard's boys’ soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Montclair Kimberley Academy in the Non-Public B State Championship game yesterday at The College of New Jersey. Durcan took a pass from Nicolas Ricciardi ’16, raced up the right sideline and broke a scoreless tie early in the second half. Durcan later found James Reiner ’14 with eight minutes remaining to secure the victory for the Knights, who earned their second state title (2009) since becoming a member of the NJSIAA in 2004. Goalkeeper Jordan Schreer ’15 made seven saves in the shutout, behind a superb defensive effort from Craig Pilla ’14, Cameron Miller ’17 and Maxwell Aunger ’17.
