Girls’ Tennis Extends Winning Streak

The girls’ tennis team continues to have success on the courts this fall, with the Knights winning four matches in a row, including wins over Montgomery and Ridge last week, and they now own a record of 12-3.
Gill got the week off on the right foot by beating Montgomery 3-2 on Monday, October 1. GSB swept the singles matches for the win, as Mayjah Jean-Pierre ’21, Ella Baker ’21, and Michaela Kroon ’22 were all victorious.
The Knights kept up the momentum from their big win by beating Ridge 5-0 the following day. Jean-Pierre, Baker, and Kroon handily won their matches, while the first doubles teams of Tori Goldin ’20 and Callie Dahler ’22, and the second doubles team of Caitlyn Matthews ’20 and Sophie Nourbakhsh ‘21, were also victorious.
It will be a big week for the program as the Knights take on Eastern Christian Academy tomorrow, October 8, in the first round of the Non-Public B sectional tournament and then in action again on Sunday, October 13, in the Preps Championship.
