Librarians Share Holiday Book Ideas

If you are looking for a holiday gift or just a great book to curl up with this December, the GSB librarians have suggestions for all ages.
Lower & Middle School Librarian Lia Carruthers Recommends
For adults: Educated by Tara Westover; for Middle School students: Squirm by Carl Hiassen; The Track Series (Ghost, Patina, Sunny, Lu) by Jason Reynolds; Amal Unbound by Aisha Saeed; and for Lower School students: All are Welcome by Alexandra Penfold; The Day You Begin by Jacqueline Woodson; I am Human by Susan Verde; Mia Mayhem is a Superhero by Kara West; Rosie Revere and the Raucous Riviteers by Andrea Beatty.
In the Upper School, Head Librarian Kristen Armstrong Recommends
For teens and adults: An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green; Becoming by Michelle Obama; Swing by Kwame Alexander; Dry by Neal and Jarrod Shusterman; My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows.
In addition to book recommendations, our librarians are running holiday reading promotions for students in every division.
Lower and Middle School students can take part in the third annual Holiday Book Bingo, courtesy of Lia Carruthers. Students will receive the Holiday Break Book Bingo board and instructions in their Friday Folders.
In the Upper School, Kristen Armstrong is holding a Check-out Challenge for Upper School students and all faculty. Everyone who checks out a book between now and winter break will be entered into a drawing for gift cards to Amazon and the GSB Cafe. Stop by the libraries to check one out!
