Softball
The GSB Softball team is etching the next chapter in the program's long and storied history.
With a remarkable run of recent and historical success, the Knights have established themselves as a perennial powerhouse in the Skyland Conference, Somerset County, and Non-Public B rankings. Overall, the team has won eight conference titles (1987, 1998, 1999, 2011, 2015-2017, 2018) to go along with six Prep B championships (2011, 2015, 2016, 2022, 2023, 2024).

Coach Surella
Michael Surella has led the GSB softball program since the 2017-18 season. In his tenure, Surella has led the team to one Conference title (2018), two Sectional Championship appearances (2021, 22), and back-to-back-to-back Prep B titles (2022, 2023, 2024). Over his career, he has helped players elevate their skill sets to earn All Conference, All Area, and All State honors, with many continuing their careers at the college level.
Along with coaching at Gill, Surella is a former Mendham Township Middle School softball coach, and helped the program to three consecutive Morris County finals while winning two titles. Surella also previously ran his own club program, the Mendham Mavericks.
