Coach Malecki
A dedicated educator and fencing coach, Coach Malecki brings a lifelong passion for history and the art of fencing to our school community. His own fencing journey began at West Virginia University and was further honed through his involvement with the Society for the Creative Anachronism, where his dedication to safety and skill earned him an Award of Arms in combat as well as a position as a safety marshall.
In 2007, Coach Malecki founded the Morris Catholic Fencing team, building it into the respected program it is today. His expertise and leadership were recognized on a state level when he was named the 2024 Girl's Coach of the Year. His influence extends beyond our school as a Moniteur d'Epee certified by the US Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA). In this role, he has made a significant contribution to the sport by authoring the official curriculum for the USFCA's high school coach certification program. He has also served as a board member for the New Jersey Interscholastic Fencing Association, helping to shape the future of scholastic fencing in our state.
When he is not leading our student-athletes to victory, Coach Malecki can be found sharing his knowledge in the Upper School history classroom, giving private lessons at Forte Fencing in Wharton, or cheerfully ferrying his son, Philip, to his many activities.
