The girls’ fencing program continues to grow in roster size and competitiveness.The Knights have claimed numerous All-Conference Honors, individual medals, and two Prep C Championships (2007, 2019).

Coach Olson
Stephen Olson has led the GSB fencing program since 2019.
In addition to his role at GSB, Olson coaches at the Manchen Academy of Fencing. Olson was a prolific fencer in high school, being named Third-Team All-State in foil his senior year, and his foil squad placed top-three at the state championships his sophomore, junior, and senior years. He won the CHAOS tournament (tournament for college club fencing teams) during the 2017-2018 season while competing for Drexel University. He also medaled in Men's Foil at the USFA Division II Men’s Foil National Championship.
"My favorite part of fencing is the ethical aspect," says Olson. "I believe fencing instills values of respect and honor into the minds and actions of those who take part. Traditionally, and even now, the sport is still centered around the idea of an honorable duel."
