Boys' Track and Field
The Boys’ Track and Field team has a strong tradition of being one of the top programs in the area.
They have won a total of six conference championships (1998, 2002, 2004, 2006-2008) and were also crowned Prep B Champions in 2004. In 2018, the program had All-American throwers CJ Licata and Joe Licata win the New Jersey shot put title while also being the top American thrower at the prestigious Penn Relays.

Coach Platt
Elliot Platt took over the GSB Track & Field Program in 2024. Prior to coaching GSB he was the fielding/jumping coach at Immaculata High School and has coached track at Montclair Kimberley Academy and Newark Academy. Over his 18 years of coaching track and field, he has also coached high school football over that time period as well. Additionally, he has sporadically coached Baseball and Basketball. He still currently coaches football at Immaculata High School where he serves a variety of different roles in all three phases of the game.
During his coaching career, he has severed many roles in the various sports he has coached. However, he believes that every athlete he coaches deserves the best opportunity to succeed.
Coach Platt attended Franklin & Marshall College where he played football during his freshman year. He was a member of the 2004 ECAC Southwest Regional Bowl Championship and Co-Centennial Conference Championship Team. He earned his degree in Psychology and Scientific Studies of the Human Mind. Coach Platt completed his Master's in Education at Montclair State University where he also earned his teaching degree in Physical Education & Health. He currently teaches seniors at the Academy for Allied Health Sciences within the Union County Vocational School District in Scotch Plains, NJ.
