Gill St. Bernard's School Entrance Exam Testing Notice 2021-2022

At Gill St. Bernard’s School, our highest priority is the health and safety of students and families. With this, for the 2021-2022 academic year, standardized testing is optional for application to grades five to eleven. Our admission officers will review applicant files based on essential components, including virtual interviews, student essays, teacher recommendations, grades, and parent statements. (If your child has taken a test, you may submit the results. If you decide not to submit them, it will not affect your child’s admission evaluation.)

Students applying to our Lower School in grades preschool to four will be assessed virtually by a member of our faculty. We will notify you of the process and arrange for a time that is convenient for your family, as this requirement can be completed from home.

Should you have questions about testing or any other components in the process, we invite you to contact our Admission Office at 908-234-1611 (ext. 245) or

NOTE: These changes for 2021-22 supersede normal testing protocols, which will remain in effect for the 2022-2023 school year.

"Gill has been a wonderful experience for our children! The teachers are top notch. They challenge the students but also provide support when it is needed. The campus is beautiful and creates many chances for hands-on learning.” Parent Review

"Every little contribution of time and effort is appreciated and it makes one an integral part of the Gill community. It also shows my children that I have an interest in their overall experience and education at school and not just in their academic success. Being involved in the school is one of the most rewarding and fun experiences I have given myself."
