Our school day begins at 8:15 a.m.

• Kindergarten hours are from 8:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
• Lower School (Grades One through Four) hours are from 8:15 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.
• Our Extended Day program end by 5:30 p.m.

Supervision begins at 7:45 a.m. in a designated location within the Cox building. Students arriving after 8:15 a.m. must sign in at the Lower School Security Office.

Yes, there are full-time security officers on staff during the academic day and a security officer on duty until the Lower School building closes at 6:00 p.m. Guests must sign in with the Security Office before checking in to the Lower School Main Office.

Lower School Lunch is served at 11:00 a.m. for our students in Kindergarten through Grade Four in the Founders Hall Dining Room. Lower School faculty sit with the children during lunch. Our menu typically includes produce from our own garden, and our chefs are mindful in providing fresh, healthy choices for students.

Parents drop off their children in the car line in the Lower School parking lot, where teachers and administrators welcome children. Parents are not permitted to walk their children into the school building.

Many towns provide bus service for our Kindergarten-12th grade students. Our transportation coordinator can answer any questions regarding bus service (908-234-1611 ext. 480). 

The Lower School has a standardized uniform for Kindergarten through Grade 4. This includes polo shirts, khaki, navy, or gray pants, and dresses. More information is printed in the GSB Parent/Student Handbook.
