Junior Year

October-March

• All students take the PSAT. Administrated by Gill St. Bernard's.
• Begin to research college choices, using guidebooks, web sites and college catalogs.
• Review PSAT scores. They are a good way to prepare for the SAT.
• Plan your SAT and Subject Test calendar for the rest of the year.
• Beginning in January meetings are scheduled with your college counselor to explore different college possibilities.
• Arrange for college visits during Spring break and other convenient times.
• The SAT is offered in January and March.
• Consider the ACT as a testing alternative to the SAT.

April-June

• SAT and Subject Tests are offered in May and June. All students should take the SAT by June and consider Subject testing.
• Attend college fairs and meet college representatives that visit GSB.
• Plan additional college visits for the summer.
• Additional meetings with your college counselor as needed.

July-August

• Visit colleges.
• Work on personal essay.
• Get applications and start filling them out.
